Since the Saudi/UAE-led coalition, with the participation of other countries, announced its military operations in Yemen at dawn on March 26, 2015, Mwatana for Human Rights has documented hundreds of air attacks targeting the civilian population in Yemen. These attacks have resulted in the deaths and injuries of thousands of civilians, including children, across various Yemeni governorates. Civilian objects, such as hospitals, schools, factories, bridges, historical and cultural properties, markets, water sources, sea ports, airports, funeral halls, weddings, and means of transportation, have been targeted by these air attacks. Mwatana has also documented the use of bombs made by the USA, UK, and Italy in these attacks. Therefore, at Mwatana for Human Rights, we define air attacks as any attack carried out by the Saudi/UAE-led coalition air forces, including the dropping of bombs of any type and from any source of manufacture on civilians and civilian objects, resulting in civilian casualties or damage to civilian objects.
