The tax of living on mined land
On World Mine Awareness Day, which falls on April 4, mines continue to claim more innocent people for no reason other than the fact that they had no choice but to live on mined land, which left them between two choices, both bitter. Either living with a feeling of anticipation of death, disability or being displaced outside the homeland without land or housing!
Perhaps this is an occasion during which we call on all parties to the conflict in Yemen to stop planting more mines and to reveal their locations so that they can be removed as a priority that cannot be postponed, to avoid the inevitable loss of more lives and the injury of more victims, as there is no difference between those who continue to kill innocent people with a bullet. Or a missile, and whoever kills them with a mine or a bomb, and takes away their security in their homes, and then goes on without being punished or reprimanded!
