Yemen: Their Story, Our Duty
Four-year-old Alanoud lost her entire family in an airstrike in Yemen in 2017. "I don’t have anyone to play with, they're all in heaven now," she says sitting on the rubble of her house. Her story is also our responsibility. To alert on the role of the UK, US, and France in the war in Yemen and put an end to one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, Charles Dance, Annie Lennox, Catherine Deneuve, Sofia Aram, and Vikash Dhorasoo have lent their voice to amplify Alanoud’s. The 5 celebrities call upon the UK, US, and French governments to stop fuelling the war in Yemen, by suspending their arms exports to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The film “Yemen: Their Story, Our Duty”, presented by Action contre la faim, Avaaz, FIDH, Médecins du Monde, Mwatana for Human Rights, Oxfam, Saferworld and War Child, is inspired by the documentary “Yemen: kids and the war” by award-winning Yemeni filmmaker Khadija Al-Salami.
