On September 21, around the Peace week, The panel of Juries for Paxforpeace's Dove prize decided to award Mwatana with one of the five PAX Doves.
The jury praises Mwatana's methodical and multifaceted approach with which brings about actual change in a conflict that gets little to no attention. The jury announced that Mwatana's work deserves special recognition and therefore awarded Mwatana a PAX Dove.
On behalf of Mwatana, Ali Jameel Mwatana's Accountability and Redress Director was present in the ceremony in Utrecht, The Netherlands to receive the award.
