El próximo miércoles 18 de mayo el Parlamento Europeo acoge un workshop sobre el «Comercio de armas europeas y derechos humanos: El caso de Yemen y los presuntos crímenes de guerra» organizado por el Centre Delàs d’Estudis per la Pau, el Centro Europeo de Derechos Constitucionales y Humanos (ECCHR), Mwatana for Human Rights, Red Europea Contra el Comercio de Armas (ENAAT) y la Federación Internacional de Derechos Humanos (FIDH). El acto tendrá lugar a las 11:30h y cuenta con la participación de diferentes entidades y organizaciones de paz y DDHH europeas.

Why is the UK government still getting away with complicity in the Yemen war?

This is a far greater scandal than the parties in Downing Street. In a just world, it would prove the downfall of our prime minister. This week, airstrikes by the Saudis and their allies killed more than a dozen people in Yemen, civilians among them. Last month an estimated 32 civilians died as a result of the ongoing conflict. The country has been convulsed by civil war since 2014. For seven years, a Saudi-led coalition has been pummelling the impoverished country with bombs, many of them supplied by Britain. Through our staunch military alliance with the Saudi dictatorship, our government is directly complicit with these atrocities.

Crimes de guerre au Yémen : la société civile a initié un outil d’inversion de rapport de force

Le 2 juin 2022, trois organisations de la société civile ont porté plainte devant le tribunal judiciaire de Paris contre des industriels français de la défense, en l’occurrence Thalès, MBDA et Dassault Aviation, pour "éventuelle complicité dans des crimes de guerre et des crimes contre l'humanité présumés au Yémen, lesquels auraient pu être commis du fait de leurs exportations d'armes vers l'Arabie saoudite et les Émirats arabes unis". Parmi les plaignants, deux ONG : l’ECCHR (Centre européen pour les droits constitutionnels et les droits de l'homme dont le siège est à Berlin) et Mwatana for Human Rights (ONG yéménite), ainsi que l’association française Sherpa.
